ICBC’s data middleware project
Overview
- In this project, Farben successfully solves a number of problems for the customer, including repeated data development, non-standardization, and governance challenges, by taking a combination of measures, including reconstructing the data warehouse architecture, unifying data asset management and development centers, strengthening underlying data storage capacity, and building unified data asset catalogs and services. These measures not only improve the efficiency and quality of data processing but also promote the comprehensive integration and efficient utilization of data resources. By building a unified data asset management platform, the bank is able to carry out the online closed-loop management of data governance, thereby enhancing data security and compliance and providing facilitation for internal and external data sharing. In addition, data middleware operation capabilities have substantially improved, providing effective support for the communication of banking data strategies, strengthening cross-departmental collaboration, and accelerating the data-driven decision-making process. It considerably improves the bank’s data management, laying a solid foundation for its digital transformation.
Case Background
- The customer is in urgent need of a top-down data management organization to support its data strategy or goal.
- A well-established, mature, and unified platform supports the bank’s data strategy, system, and process and enables the communication and execution of goals.
- The bank is unable to quickly and effectively assemble all its data resources or acquire the data resources required for high-quality business analysis.
- Data asset building on multiple platforms makes it impossible to standardize the process and carry out the online closed-loop management of data governance.
Case Content
- Reconstruct the data warehouse architecture to avoid repeated data development
- Enable data asset functions and unify data control and governance capabilities
- Implement a data development center to unify data development capabilities
- Implement underlying data storage capacity to unify the data asset storage of the whole bank
- Implement the data asset catalog and services to unify external data services
Value for Customers
- Reconstruct the data warehouse architecture, perform a tiered design of management based on data middleware, and use the unified data development center to unify the data asset building process for the whole bank.
- Data asset management capabilities enable the online closed-loop management of the data governance process and the unification of external data asset services
- The unified data asset management platform provides platform support for the bank’s inventory-taking of data assets.
- Data middleware operation capabilities provide support for the bank to communicate its data strategy and accomplish its data goal.
